Lately, I’ve been LOVING a rather unconventional fall trend — pastels. When I worked at Lyst.com last summer, a girl I worked with always wore pastels with dark, moody colours. Taking note of her cool style, I vowed to put together similar looks for fall myself.
As you guys probably know, this vintage jacket from Momma Loves You Vintage has been a favourite piece of mine lately. Coincidentally, Chiara Ferragni just shared a photo of herself wearing a similar jacket [edit: it’s now sold out on her site 🙁 ].
Going off the burgundy colour of my jacket, I paired a pastel men’s shirt with a red-ish purple flannel. When paired together, the colours pop really well. Although pastels can often appear very “spring/summer”, I think the flannel and darker colours give the pale pink a new life.
Instead of wearing denim (like I do in 99% of posts) I opted for trousers that I picked up at an ADORABLE little shop by the West Hampstead tube station — La Boutique Secret. These loose black pants not only look subtly cool, but they’re also super lightweight and VERY comfortable. And cheap — what’s not to love?
To add to the contrast of moodiness against the pale pink, I opted for dark lips and a crazy gothic choker I picked up at TopShop a while back. Since it can’t all be doom and gloom, I obviously paired uber-girly COMME des GARÇONS Converse with this look.
***Exciting life update***
Next week, I will be travelling to Berlin with Tanya, Isabelle (and possibly) Polina! Next week, PREPARE yourself for a full on Berlin post. Who knows, maybe I’ll even make a corresponding playlist…
See you then !
