Hello friends!

Last week, I impulsively attended a concert for The Last Shadow Puppets with Laura (AKA my favourite Australian / Instagram friend/ magazine editor extraordinaire )! For those of you who haven’t heard of TLSP, the lead singer for the Arctic Monkeys, Alex Turner, is the main voice on their tracks.

After most concerts I attend, getting a cool teeshirt is pretty much a requirement. Not only am I planning to resell mine for £££££ 20 years from now, but Band tees are an easy way to discover that SEO Simon also listens to Pink Floyd (WHO KNEW)??? Each teeshirt has a story, and I hope to tell them to my future kids ( to prove that I was cool once :P).

There seems to be a debate surrounding people who buy tees from bands they don’t listen to. Although I’m of the “you do you” opinion regarding most issues, this one is a bit awkward. Yes, Metallica have a cool logo, but I’d feel SOOOO awkward if I was unable to name one song. “We Did It Again”. Boom — and I don’t even have a Metallica teeshirt. As well, many people often tie music and fashion to their identity, so wearing something false is a bit strange in my eyes.

Size wise, you can never go wrong with a medium. If it ends up being too baggy, band tees serve as great pyjamas or a counterbalance to dangerously cropped skirts or shorts. For the seriously brave, cut them up ;).

For my next artist/musician teeshirt purchase, I’m dying to get my hands on some Kaytranada stuff! I’ve been a fan of his since his Underground Charisma days, and his cool merch is an added bonus.

For the rest of the look, I admit to struggling initially. I’ve been living out of a suitcase for the last TWO months, so in an act of desperation, I tried to wear my jacket as a skirt. It kinda looks like its falling off, but in a weird way, I like it. I took these photos on the roof of my building, so at least I didn’t go out in public — sort of.

Let me know if my skirt/jacket (skacket??) is hella obvious in the comments or on my Instagram, @stephieirwin, and we can laugh about it together.

See you guys next week!

Steph
